Women's Tattoo Ideas - Top 3 Women's Shoulder Tattoos
Sometimes it's really hard to decide between the massive selection of women's tattoo ideas out there, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Even if you've decided where to get your tattoo (so have a great idea of how much room you have to work on), the possibilities are almost limitless.
So I've created a nice, easy-to-digest list of three of the most popular women's tattoo ideas for women's shoulder tattoos, in the hope you find it inspirational. My first tattoo was on my left shoulder, so that one holds a special significance for me. Enjoy!
1. Rose Designs for Women's Shoulder Tattoos
Intended to signify either love or beauty. Many rose tattoo lovers affirm that the rose represents both inner and outer beauty - with some describing any thorns as an important reminder that it's inner beauty that counts most of all. Rose designs can also represent pure love, especially when the tattoo design is without thorns. Although you are totally free to choose the color of your rose design, it's a good idea to be aware of the following connections associated with each type:
* Red - Romantic love, and respect
* Pink - Grace, elegance, gentleness
* Orange - Enthusiasm and excitement
* Yellow - Friendship, joy, platonic connections, devotion
* White - Purity, innocence, youth
* Blue - Fantasy, the impossible
* Black - Death, darkness and the night
2. Star Designs for Women's Shoulder Tattoos
Intended to represent reaching for your goals and achieving all your aspirations, the meaning also depends upon the style of the star itself.
For example, shooting stars are associated with life changing events, nautical stars are usually a symbol of protection and guidance, a pentagram is symbol of protection and balance (unless upside-down, which signifies the Devil or Darkness), whilst the Shield of David is a strong symbol of Judaism.
3. Wing Designs for Women's Shoulder Tattoos
Wings symbolize freedom and travel afar, and there are all sorts of women's tattoo ideas involving them, such as angel wings, fairy wings, butterfly wings, and traditional bird wings.
For example, the Phoenix bird has a strong mythological history in both Western and Eastern cultures. Its many associations make it a popular choice of tattoo design; most prominently, it represents purification, renewal and cleansing.
Another option is to go for Angel wings. As a symbol of devotion, spirituality, and faith, Angel wings can also serve as a memorial to a loved one. Along similar lines, the Swallow bird represents hope as well as the souls of the dead, and offers a tasteful option if you want to remember someone special to you as part of the tattoo design.

Seven Things to Know Before Getting a Tattoo
Seven Things to Know Before Getting a Tattoo
Getting a tattoo is "in" for a long time now. But before you dive in, there are things you need to know before getting a one. Read on.
1. Choose a good tattoo studio. A good studio is the one which has a good tract record and large number of customers. You should find out how long they have been in the business. If you know some who has been a customer of that parlor, ask him/her about their service. Also, a good tattoo studio is the one that guarantees their work. So that when the outcome is not pleasing to you, you can have it fix without additional cost.
2. Hire the best tattoo artist. Some large studios have many artists. You should pick the artist which has a good quality of work and experience. Again, if you know someone with a tattoo that you like, ask him/her about the studio and the artist. Talk to your artist and ask any questions about your new tattoo.
3. Pick a good design. A tattoo is permanent, it's not like buying a new shirt that you can gave away when you're done with it. And tattoo removal is expensive and can be painful and it can leave ugly scars in your skin. Pick a design that you feel you will not lost interest in even after 5 or 10 years or so. Something that you can relate to. For example, if you just been married, you can have a wedding ring tattoo or the name of your love.
4. Know the total cost. Before you decide to get a tattoo or agree anything to the studio, you need to know the total cost. Bigger tattoos cost bigger and even the smallest one can be expensive too. But bear in mind to never sacrifice the design and quality of a tattoo for the cost. Again, tattoos are permanent. You can't go out from a studio feeling you wanna rip off your new tattoo.
5. Prepare for pain. In tattoo, "no pain, no tattoo". When getting "inked", you should prepare yourself for the sensation of being pricked by a needle for hours. Some part of the body is more sensitive than the other and other people is more tolerant to pain than the others.
6. Safety first. Before you allow yourself to get pricked by the machine make sure that that needle is fresh and sterilize. If it is not, demand a new and sterilized one. You don't wanna get a tattoo and a disease at the same time.
7. Tattoo after care. Now you got your tattoo. Next thing to know is how to take care of your new tattoo so that it will not get infected. The first few days is the most crucial as the wounds are still fresh. Usually, tattoo artists will gave you tips and hand-outs on how to care for your new tattoo.
